Fall Boyfriends
Summer flings are fun, but as soon as the leaves turn, it's time to find someone or face a long, cold, lonely winter. To poke fun at this shift in dating priorities,, my friend Mel and I posted a satirical Craigslist ad on Labor Day weekend seeking “Fall Boyfriends.” By Monday, the ad had gone full-on viral.
Naturally, we took the bit further, hosting a live comedy show at The Knitting Factory where we imagined life with some of the ad's most promising (and peculiar) applicants.
We didn’t find our seasonal soul mates, but our little idea did officially usher the term "cuffing season" into the cultural lexicon.
